The mid-cut collar saved my ankles on a scree descent where I'd usually be wincing. Stiff enough for edging on limestone but I could still feel the rock through the sole, which I actually like. Two months of weekend abuse and the GTX liner hasn't leaked once.

Took these on three rocky approaches so far and the precision on small footholds is spot on, even on loose scree. The mid height gives solid ankle protection without feeling clunky.

Took these up a rocky approach last weekend and the grip on wet limestone honestly surprised me. The waterproof membrane kept my feet dry through a stream crossing, and the stiff sole handled scree without any roll.
